Mike Ridout

Mike Ridout is the GM/COO and Secretary at Oshawa Golf & Curling Club (OGCC). Mike is a hospitality professional who focuses on the creation & delivery of member & guest experiences which generate a value proposition. Mike has quantified success leading teams in Canada, the Caribbean and Hawai’i with industry-leading hospitality providers, including Beacon Hall Golf Club, Brampton Golf Club, Elm Ridge Country Club, The Tryall Club and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

Mike was awarded his MBA, which included a Club Management research focus from the University of Guelph. He assisted in the development of Canada’s only Business Degree in Golf Club Management + Golf Facilities Operation Management Diploma. Mike also has a distinguished golf management background including a former Class ‘A’ Golf Course Superintendent designation with the GCSAA (Golf Course Superintendents Association). Mike remains a member of the GCSAA and CGSA. Mike has contributed various industry-related articles over his career including his graduate research which was published in the Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management in 2010.

When not at the club, you can find Mike with his wife Arlene and daughter Leah or on a road bike on a country road.
